We are very excited to announce that we are offering a brand new program here at Saint Paul American School, Beijing!  The Summer School Credit-Recovery program is a three-week program that is designed to help students recover a grade in one course.  Due to the nature of the course structure, it is important that the student understands that they will be held to the same academic standards as all other students in regular semester length classes and will be challenged accordingly.  Details of the course are as follows:
 
세인트폴의 새로운 프로그램을 안내해드리게 된 것을 기쁘게 생각합니다! 이번 여름 계절학기 프로그램은 학생들이 취약했던 한 과목의 학점을 보완할 수 있는 3주짜리 코스입니다. 계절학기는 학생들의 정규 학기와 동일한 수업시간과 기준으로 진행될 것이며 따라서 노력을 요하는 프로그램입니다. 자세한 내용은 아래를 참조하시기 바랍니다.
 
·         Start enrollment process by clicking on this form
·         Courses that will be initially offered pending enrollment are:
o   English: General English 9 and General English 10
o   Math/Science: Algebra I, II, Geometry OR Biology
o   Social Studies: Geography, American Government, OR US History
·         The courses with the highest enrollment will be the ones added to the Summer School Credit-Recovery program schedule.
·         The student will receive a full semester of material and instruction (67.5 hours, 4050 minutes) as they would in one full-semester course.
·         The courses are offered for students entering grades 10-12.
·         The student must have received a grade of <D+ in the course that they are trying to recover.
·         The fee for the course is $1,700 USD.
·         The dates are:
o   Week 1 – June 19-June 23 (one week)
o   Week 2 & 3 – August 20 – September 1 (two weeks)
·         Upon completion of the course, the student has the option to accept or deny whether or not this recovery course grade is added to their transcript.

·         계절학기에 제공될 과목은 아래와 같습니다.
o   영어: 9학년 영어, 10학년 영어
o   수학/과학: 대수 I, II, 기하 혹은 생물
o   사회: 지리, 미국 정부 혹은 미국 역사
·         가장 많은 학생이 등록한 과목들이 여름 계절학기 스케줄에 추가될 것입니다.
·         학생들은 정규 학기와 동일한 교재로 수업(67.5시간, 4050분)을 받게 됩니다.
·         다음 학기 10~12학년이 되는 학생들에게만 제공됩니다.
·         보완하려는 과목의 성적이 D+ 이하일 때 가능합니다.
·         계절학기 수업료는 미화 1,700달러입니다.
·         일정은
o   제1주: 6월19일(월)~6월23일(금)
o   제2~3주: 8월21일(월)~9월1일(금)입니다.
·         학기를 마치면 학생은 본 학기의 성적을 성적표에 반영할지 여부를 결정할 수 있습니다.
 
This program is a wonderful opportunity for students to potentially recovery a grade with the guided focus of a certified teacher on course specific content over the summer.  This will undoubtedly allow students to hone their skills and improve their overall knowledge as a student.
 
본 프로그램은 검증된 선생님이 여름 동안 특정 과목의 주요 내용을 학생들에게 제공함으로써 부족한 학점을 회복할 수 있는 훌륭한 시간이 될 것입니다. 학생들이 교과목의 전반적인 지식을 얻고 자신의 실력을 갈고 닦는 좋은 기회가 되리라 믿어 의심치 않습니다.
